Keolis Vlaanderen has been recognised with a Groep INTRO* industry award, for its work on a range of initiatives to help more people enter the employment market, largely thanks to apprenticeship and recruitment programmes.
One of the initiatives by Keolis Vlaanderen is offering foreign language speakers access to language training courses so they can learn Dutch and start working for De Lijn, the regional public transport company in the Flanders region.
This award illustrates Keolis’ focus on achieving its sustainable development objectives in Belgium. These objectives include ending poverty, promoting quality education and life-long learning, sustainable economies and full employment, in order to reduce inequalities.
*Groep INTRO is a Belgian organisation supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds in acquiring and strengthening their skills. It focuses on socially vulnerable young people and adults, low-skilled job seekers and workers, people living in the home, returners, and low-skilled non-native speakers.
