Every year, 3000 Keolis drivers get no less than 26 million passengers at their destinations, in one of the 2650 buses or coaches. Each year, Keolis travels more kilometres than the year before. In 2017 we are talking about 91,5 million kilometres, and the total travel distance has been rising every year. Unfortunately, there is a shortage in bus and coach drivers to cover this. To service schools, tourism, public transport companies such as ‘De Lijn’ in Flanders, and ‘Tec’ in Wallonia, we are currently recruiting all over the country. Sadly, bus and coach drivers are on the shortage occupation list. However, Keolis is trying hard to do something about it.
The most important requirement to become a bus or coach driver is of course the possession of a type D driver’s license. The high costs of this puts many people off. To do something about this, Keolis has launched a nationwide training project in collaboration with Randstad and Transport Academy. All candidates that make it through the selection procedure, will get the chance to get their type D license, financed by Keolis. Only the examination fees are to be paid by the candidates themselves.
Does this offer appeal to you and can you imagine yourself behind the wheel of a bus or coach? Then do not hesitate and go to www.rijbewijs-d.be and sign up for the training programme by filling in the form!
