Keolis attaches great importance to diversity and equality. People are the group’s main asset. That is why our policy is aimed at treating all our staff worldwide as equals and with respect.
The group’s HR strategy is directly in line with our three core values: We Imagine – We Care – We Commit. Keolis is committed to diversity, both in terms of people and ideas. This means we are an “Equal Opportunity Employer”. All levels of our organisation employ people of any age, gender, faith and physical capabilities.
Keolis devotes special attention to the equality between men and women. Historically speaking the transport sector has always been a male bastion but now the stereotypes are being challenged and our group is taking positive action to employ more women.
Some time ago the group set four ambitious goals within the scope of the GEEIS label: more gender diversity in our branches, raising staff awareness of our commitment to gender equality, more women in positions of responsibility and equal pay for equal work.
Thanks to this policy a number of branches in different countries have meanwhile obtained the GEEIS certificate: Norway, the Netherlands, Australia, the UK and the Boston branch.
Gender equality in Belgium
In 2017 Keolis Belgium also obtained the GEEIS label. HR Director Mario Thysebaert and HR Business Partner Katleen Saenen launched the project in the course of 2016. Katleen Saenen explains: “In 2017 we undertook specific action to promote the diversity and equality of our staff. We are convinced that the ‘Gender Equality European & International Standard’ label can only contribute to a positive image for Keolis in Belgium, an image as a good employer, both for men and women.”
