EFFIA, Keolis’ parking subsidiary, has won a first parking contract in Belgium where it put feet on the ground in 2017 by purchasing Alfa Park from the Belgian Van Laere group.
After a tender that was issued in 2018 by parking.brussels, the parking authority of the Brussels-Capital region, it has awarded EFFIA a seven year contract for the Park and Ride parking CERIA-COOVI that is located on the Brussels’ city border. This parking has a capacity of 1,300 places on 5 levels. The contract includes the payment and safety equipment and the daily management of the car park. Access and monitoring will be ensured through the latest generation of technologies such as ticketless control using license plate recognition (LPR) cameras, a video surveillance system connected to the control centre and the largest deployment of solar panels on a car park in Belgium.
To provide customers the best multimodal mobility solution, the car park has a direct connection to a metro station which brings passengers into the heart of Brussels within 20 minutes. The car park of P+R CERIA COOVI is open and accessible 24 hours a day, all year round.
EFFIA currently operates 20 car parks and on-street parking sites across Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels region, totalling more than 12,000 parking spaces. By winning this contract EFFIA Belgium enlarges not only its Belgian business but also its sustainable footprint which is aligned with EFFIA’s international growth strategy and provides a solid base for Keolis to further develop its activities in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
